"We wanted a design that gave a clear impression of what we are, a grouping of the whole community.
The impression of the crowds created with a range of colours suggests a diversity of cultures and nationalities. The doves historically represent a symbol of peace recognised by many cultures. The profile of the human face emphasised that solidarity is bought about by the unity of individuals. The image is contained with a circle to symbolise the global concern for peace. We think globally and act locally.
We just wanted to show the mass of people all over the world coming together for peace."
