My Sweet Garden
I kept my secret hidden
From eyes of piercing scorn.
But now, alas, they see the trash
High fence gone with the storm.
To peep out from the window
As comments reach my ears,
"A damn disgrace, this bloody place."
And then of course the sneers.
Yes once there was a garden,
Green lawn and vegies, too.
The Tiser taught, each time I bought,
And told me what to do.
Now four long years behind me
On monstrous weeds I gaze,
Lawn now straw, cracked paths galore,
Sheer ugliness the maze.
